We've had a bunch of really cool Fender Custom Shop stuff come by lately and this one is near the top of the heap for sure.

The certificate simply states that it is a "1962 Strat". It seemed like there was a little more there than that, so we called Fender. They said that it was a one-off, custom order for Bizarre Guitar in Reno, Nevada - a shop that isn't all that far from us that has been around for decades and decades. And sure enough, the store's name is written on the neck heel, right around the old-school, early Custom Shop stamp.

The guitar is from the earlier years of the Custom Shop. Under the pickguard, Art Esparza, a Fender master builder, personally signed the foil shield and the neck pocket and John Page signed the cert.

It is clear that they spent time on these guitars back then. It is a beautiful piece and that neck is just out of this world, littered with birdseye. It plays wonderfully and has great feel.

The guitar definitely has a look too - not for everyone, but everyone who sees it says, "I'm not really into gold guitars, but that thing is sick", or "I'm not a sparkle finish guy, but damn that's a killer guitar".

The guitar is in nearly new condition and is all original, though the gold trem arm is missing. The certificate of authenticity and the original case are included.

There are no repairs or issues with the guitar whatsoever. Everything checks out, including the truss rod, which has room for future adjustment.
