Description

Here’s an exceedingly unique 1970 Fender Stratocaster in Blue Metallic! This is the only Stratocaster we’re aware of in this color, and the guitar even has the word “Special” ink stamped in the neck pocket. While similar to Lake Placid Blue, this finish sports a lighter shade of blue with a more pronounced metallic fleck. As you can see, its color is very well preserved, with fine weather checking throughout the body, but hardly any playwear. The neck has some gorgeous flame that runs up through the headstock, and the neck profile fits great in the hand. These nicely balanced single-coil pickups have that quintessential “Straty” sound, and they sound even better with some overdrive thrown in. If you’re looking for a crazy rare color from this era in Fender’s history, this is the one!

Overall Condition: 9.5, weather checking throughout
