This Fender Stratocaster was made in the USA in 1970. The guitar shows heavy play wear but there is no structural damage. The changed parts are the volume pot, much of the wiring is redone, the switch is an older 5 way, the nut is changed and it has been refretted with awesome jumbo frets. The tuners, bridge, plastic parts, pickups and both tone pots all appear original. There was an extra string tree added at some point but since has been filled. Despite the wear this is a very good playing and sounding instrument. One cool feature is this guitar was factory marked "special" in the neck pocket but it is unclear as to why. The fretboard is highly figured and appears to be Brazilian although generally speaking Fender stopped using Brazilian Rosewood years earlier. We gave this one a great setup and it is a killer example of a Hendrix era 4 bolt Strat. The guitar weighs 7 lbs 6 oz and comes with the original case shown in the photos.
