1979 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail Mocha with Original Hardshell Case

Summary: This Strat plays as good as it looks! The mocha brown finish has aged nicely over the years and has a nice translucent dark wine red hue. This Strat is a hardtail so the strings mount through the body like a Telecaster and does not have the “Synchronized Trem” associated with most Stratocasters. This design makes for a guitar with more sustain, better tuning stability and tighter attack. It is in great vintage condition, has just been setup and restrung by our in house guitar tech and ships in its original hard-shell case.

Body: Solid body Strat with mocha finish and 3 ply b/w/b pickguard.

Neck: This maple neck has a nice thick profile, veneer rosewood fingerboard, pearl dots, bullet truss rod, 1970s big headstock and aftermarket brass nut. 25 ½” scale length and 1 5/8” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: 3 original grey bottom single coils, volume, 2 tones, 5 way toggle, F stamped tuning machines and hardtail-bridge with 6 individual saddles.

Cosmetics: There are a few spots on the edges on the body and one on the back where the mocha finish is worn through and the wood is showing underneath. There are some light scratches around the body and some thicker scratches around the bottom edge by the strap button. There’s a small chip in the finish by the nut and some scratches on the pickguard from normal playwear. Overall, this guitar is in great vintage condition and looks incredible.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots.

Modifications: The strap buttons have been changed to strap lock style buttons.
