Pickup A has a white (faded to crème) cover and adjusting screws and springs, pickup B has a more yellowed cover and no screws and springs, pickup C has a crème cover and adjusting screws and springs.
Imperial Guitar states:
One of the pickups appears to have flat pole pieces.
However, they are slightly staggered but in a different way that what you would normally see on an early ‘70s pickup.
Both “E” poles are about as low as on the “B” of are typical ’73.
The “A” & “B” are about as high as a ’73 “A”.
The “D” & “G” are slightly higher than the “A” or “B” but not as high as a ’73 “G”.
This makes the stagger more in line with the fretboard radius.
We haven’t found any information about this but perhaps Fender was experimenting with a different stagger pattern.
All three pickups are stamp dated ’73.
One of the fully staggered is stamped in black ink.
The other fully staggered is stamped in red ink.
The modified stagger is also stamped in red ink.
These are our observations.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
