Here we have something really special!
This amp and guitar were originally purchased together by one Tony Greco, named on the original purchase receipt as well as the nifty, engraved name plate on the amp.
Tony was a smart man. He not only bought a Strat from one of the most iconic years, he also kept all the original stuff that came with it, creating this time capsule that'll just blow you away when you see it in person.
The guitar is in amazing condition. If you know 50s Strats, you know that it doesn't take long to wear through the fretboard finish. The wear on this guitar is likely the result of very little play. The rest of the guitar shows that this is the case. It is simply in amazing condition. Included in the case is the purchase receipt, the original cable, the ashtray bridge cover, spare tremolo springs, a Fender Vibrolux schematic sheet, and the tremolo arm. The case is adorned with the rare Fender brass logo badge.
Neck and body dates on the guitar are from February and March. The guitar sports the killer V neck that makes the '56 Strat a legend.
Not a screw is changed on the guitar.
The amp is similarly amazing. It is just so clean, thanks to the shelter of the original Victoria cover. The lower border of the amp cover has shrunk a bit, which is typical, so it doesn't sit on the amp quite as it should, but it has done its job while retaining near new appearance.
The amp is completely original. When it arrived I ramped it up on a variac. It came to life perfectly. For regular use I would recommend a full check of caps and a filter cap update, but I'm not going to touch this amp until someone buys the set and asks me to do so.
Included with the amp is the ultra-rare tremolo footswitch.
This is a museum quality pair.
I have videos of my full inspection of the guitar. I also have many more pictures to share.
