Description

Offered is this killer vintage Telecaster built in 1967. No, this isn't another Fender Custom Shop Relic, this is the real deal and it is one sweetheart of a vintage Tele.

This guitar, serial number 206684, has an ash body, a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. It has a neck date of September, 1967. This pro-owned and played Tele was given new frets, a bone nut, new CTS pots and an Emerson cap, in the 1980's I believe. Different strap pins were also added somewhere along the line. Everything else is original, including the finish, pickups and case. It weighs just 7.2 pounds and is nicely balanced. The neck measures .847" deep at the first fret, increasing to .915" at the twelfth fret.

This guitar was well-played over the years and for good reason; it is a great Tele! It is light in weight and feels alive in your hands, plays superbly and sounds like you would expect a vintage Telecaster to sound, with lots of sweet Tele twang and clarity without being too piercing to the ears. Please check out the brief sound sample included below and I think you will agree!

The finish on the body of this guitar is well worn from years of play, with plenty of finish checking, edge wear and dings. The neck finish has darkened from lots of play as well, but the neck itself is smooth and a joy to play. The newer frets (6105's I believe) have years of life remaining in them. It comes in its original G&G case which is in good condition, along with the original "ashtray" bridge cover.

Vintage Telecasters are my thing these days, as evidenced by the several I currently have in stock. I buy what I like for our inventory and I LOVE this Tele. I'm sure you will too! Make it yours.
