Description

Now available on consignment, an early 1968 Fender Telecaster that has been professionally refinished in an aged Olympic White finish.

This particular example retains its original neck finish and decal, and features a maple cap fingerboard that has been refretted with medium jumbo frets.

Other work to the guitar includes:

  • The guitar had a large route professionally plugged under the pickguard before the refinish. The pickguard is subsequently a reproduction part.

  • The bridge pickup has been rewound at some point, the leads are replaced and there is some rewiring at the switch.

  • At one point 2 other string trees were added, and the neck had kluson style tuners, era correct tuners are now in place.

Otherwise the guitar retains most of its original hardware minus some pickguard screws and the bridge saddles. The CTS pots date to the 5th week of 1966, and the original switch and capacitor remain. Both pickups are well balanced and sound great.

A really solid playing maple cap tele, this one includes a 90s Fender reissue case in fair condition.
