Description
Up for sale is an incredibly cool player’s grade 1969 Fender “Paisley” Telecaster. This model has to be one of the coolest and most iconic looking Telecasters from the late 1960s. Although this one falls into the player’s category it absolutely looks, plays, and sounds the part. Most parts on the guitar came from a 1969 – early 1970s Telecaster with the exception of the body which is a correct looking 1980s era Tokai MIJ Paisley that has been painstakingly re-shot, aged, and ambered to give it a scary authentic look. The wiring harness has been swapped out for a modern harness, however the original is included. The original pots are coded 1376634 dating to the 34th week of 1966. At this point until the early 1970s Fender was using up a large amount 1966 pots they purchased. The neck pickup is a Lindy Fralin tele pickup, the bridge is original. Neck plate, bridge, tuners, control plate and knobs are all vintage. The saddles, wiring harness and switch have all been replaced but originals are all included. The neck itself is late 1960s or early 1970s. Although it lacks a neck date as it more than likely was applied light or wiped off it does have the stamp of a Fender employee who built necks dated from the late 1960s – 1970s. His name is K. Krausfeldt. An additional string tree was added and the guitar has been refretted. Different tuners were also on the guitar at one point and the originals have been put back on. In the world of Paisleys you have the originals which can cost upwards of $20,000 – $25,000, the modern MIJs that are roughly $1500 - $2000, and the Fender Masterbuilts which are generally $7,000 – $9,000. Snag this vintage one for a whole lot less! Comes complete with its original hardshell case and bridge cover.
