Here we have a 1981 Fender Telecaster in a gorgeous transparent red finish that really contrasts well with the maple fingerboard and 3-ply white pickguard. It’s a looker. All original except for replaced pickups: a Don Mare in the neck and a Fender Custom Shop in the bridge. Don Mare is known for his Tele pickups and together these two pickups really deliver the tone.
Replaced bone nut with comfortable 1 11/16 inch width. Maple neck with 25 1/2 inch scale length. Neck depth at the first fret is .81 inches and at the twelfth fret 1.1 inches. Maple fingerboard with 21 original frets.
At just over 10 1/2 pounds, this Tele is a bit of a heavy weight, but if you belong to the school that says weight = sustain, you won’t mind. Comes with its original bridge cover and hardshell case.
