Offered here is one of the most desirable vintage Telecasters I've come across in a very long time. Please check out this all-original 1967 Tele with rosewood fingerboard and custom color sunburst finish. What a beauty!
This wonderful Tele (serial number 214074) appears completely original. It has an alder body and a custom color sunburst finish (a custom color for Telecasters) which remains vibrant and unfaded. It weighs just 6 pounds, 15 ounces! It has a medium C-shaped maple neck stamped 'Sept 67' with depth measurements of .845" at the first fret tapering up to .929" at the twelfth fret. It has a gorgeous dark rosewood fretboard and the original frets remain in excellent condition. The pots date to 1966 (6642) and the solder joints appear untouched. It still sports the original neck position "bass circuit" and the original single coil pickups. Like the finish, the hardware still shines like that of a much newer instrument.
This incredible instrument has obviously spent much of the past 54 years in its case. Why, I can't tell you, as it plays wonderfully and sounds superb. The neck feels lovely and the original frets have years of play left in them. It is light and hangs nicely with no neck dive. The tone in the middle and bridge positions is just fantastic! Please check out the brief sound sample included below. This Tele can cook!
The cosmetic condition is amazing. It has seen a little bit of play, but has been a case queen for most of the last half century - the shine of the nitro and the hardware are testament to that. There is a bit of wear around the edges as shown in the photos, including an thin 3" section of exposed wood on the back where the guitar sits on your lap and some tiny indentations around the edges as well. All told, however, this guitar is cleaner than most any Tele from this era that I have ever seen! It comes in its original black tolex case which is also in amazing condition for its age along with the "ashtray" bridge cover.
This is easily one of the finest vintage Telecasters from this period that I've ever played. Make it yours by clicking the 'Buy Now' button. They just don't come much better than this!
