Description

Check out this incredibly bright 1971 Fender Thinline Telecaster in its original Canary Yellow finish! A few years ago, a picture of a key piece of Fender history began circulating around online. Written on what looks to be a manilla envelope, in Freddy Tavares’ handwriting, was the original list of custom color names intended for the Thinline Telecaster. We were lucky enough to have a nice collection of Thinline’s at the time and were able to match every color name on the list to a guitar we owned. Fender made very few custom-colored Thinline Telecasters, and Canary Yellow is one of the rarest we’ve come across. The vibrancy of the finish really speaks for itself, or shall we say…sings like a canary!

Overall Condition: 9.5, a beautifully preserved piece
