This White amp is the best-kept secret of the southern California recording studio scene. Known in Los Angeles by a handful of the better record producers as “the” go to amp for anything guitar related. Known to many Fender enthusiasts as Leo Fender’s tongue in cheek tribute to his associate in manufacturing and friend Forrest White. The words “Higher Fidelity” on the White badge are a testimonial to the spirit in which Leo launched this matching Hawaiian steel guitar student set. It’s been the popular belief that the White Amp was identical to the same era tweed Princeton and yes it is similar, but not the same. This one retains its original RCA tubes and Oxford speaker date coded 465-749 indicating the 49th week of 1957. The White Hawaiian guitar is very close to a Fender Champ Steel of the same era but is also very different, primarily cosmetically. This set is an all original near mint example and as true to form the amp sounds great. The guitar could use a few tuner buttons but has no other issues and shares the near mint status the amp enjoys. We highly recommended buying instruments in this realm of quality, as the investment yield is always greater when buying rare models in perfect condition. There is no better place to put your money than in this fine piece. All original near mint 1958 Fender made White Hawaiian steel guitar student model set, serial number HS10798 with matching White amp serial number AS000383 with original hard shell case, case key in envelope and store tag.
We accept Visa, Bank wire transfer, cashiers check, bank check, personal check or cash. No credit cards, if you need to use a credit card or even finance an item this can be done through Reverb.com.
We ship USPS Priority and Fed Ex Ground next business day, all instruments are carefully packed utilizing new shipping materials, all instruments are insured by Heritage Insurance. All parcels are flat rate shipped and are the same price for all buyers in the domestic USA, international shipping is also flat rate for anywhere in the world. The price is based on the cost of new shipping materials, boxes, bubble wrap, tape and labor and has nothing to do with where you are or your ability to pick it up in person. It is not in our business model to offer in person demonstrations of instruments or in person pickup, both of these things take an employee and extra time. If you have a limit as to what you want to spend on shipping please factor this into you instrument offer as we accept reasonable offers on most items. If an item doesn’t allow a lower offer it’s because it’s already been discounted and already at its lowest price. We recommend that you don’t chose an instrument based on shipping cost alone as there are more important issues all of which we have well covered. I might point out that all of our guitars come with professional detailing and set up, this has real value and keeps one from getting inferior work from an unqualified retail establishment. Thanks for your understanding. John Russell Nelson owner VGA Vintage Gear America
