Fodera was founded in 1983 by Vinny Fodera and Joey Lauricella in Brooklyn, New York.
Vinny Fodera is also known as the first disciple of Stewart Spector, and worked with Ken Smith from the end of 1970 to the beginning of 1980.BassVinny Fodera is also known as Stewart Spector's earliest apprentice.
Victor Wooten, Anthony Jackson, Felix Pastorius, and many other historic bassists have used this instrument, and it is well known for its perfection and performance.

This model is a 5-string version of the Emperor II, a single-cut version of the Emperor, which bears the name "Emperor.
The top is made of beautifully grained Claro walnut, and the back is also walnut. The neck is 3-ply maple through neck construction, and the fingerboard is rosewood.

Agular pickups are installed, but it is highly possible that these pickups are not original (as shipped).
Agular pickups were originally available as a Fodera customizable pickup, so the wood cover looks as well, and although it is not in its original condition, it is considered to be a modification in the Fodera-ism vein.

Also, it seems that the fretboard was once modified with a fretboard extension, and there are marks where the fretboard end was cut and repaired with rosewood, as well as buried wood repair marks on the body surface. The repair has been done so beautifully that it cannot be seen without close inspection, and of course there are no functional problems.

The single-cut low-B string has a deep, enveloping low end.
The high end-like graininess, fine sharpness in every bandwidth, and rich sustain. The sound has the delicacy and warmth of a piano.

There are traces of some modifications, but it has been played well.
