1969-1970 Les Paul Deluxe Mod.
This is a classic 1969-1070 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top, which cannot be reproduced by reissues.
Around 1969, Les Paul Standard was renamed Les Paul Deluxe and equipped with the newly developed mini humbucking pickups, which were similar in size to the P-90 pickups on the Les Paul Standard. This mini humbucking pickup has a smaller coil bobbin and the pole pieces are closer to each other, so the magnetic field is smaller and sharper, and the high frequencies are more pronounced. The body is made of mahogany backed by maple, commonly called "pancake" body. The neck is a three-piece mahogany neck used from around 1969 to 1975, and is characterized by a volute (a reinforcing knob) near the back of the nut. The neck is thicker with good grip. The pickups have been replaced with embossed Steckard-numbered pickups from around 1972, but they do not look out of place. This model is characterized by the Les Paul sound that has more attack with the sharp treble of mini humbucking added to the heavy and solid core mid-bass. This is the Les Paul Deluxe, a guitar with a look that shows the marks of a long history of warfare, a guitar that has a stately and dignified appearance, and a coolness that is easily recognizable on stage.
