1970-1975 Gibson ES-175D with a soul post under the bridge for a more solid feel.
The ES-175D is Gibson's best-selling model, and has never been discontinued since around 1948. 16 1/4" full acoustic construction with a completely hollow body. The volute-free mahogany neck features a thin neck for excellent playing performance. The pickups are numbered PAF for a vintage sound that is easy to nuance. A soul post was installed under the bridge at our store to prevent the top from falling off. The vibration of the entire body is suppressed, giving it a more solid sound, and it is also comfortable when distorted. This guitar produces a quality vintage sound unique to the 1950s and is a standard guitar recommended for jazz and blues players. It also has a more raw sound than a regular solid guitar, so it is a useful guitar for those who just want to "touch it a little" in their spare time.
