1988 Gibson '62 SG Reissue Showcase Edition Blue, Good, GigBag

Here’s a rare and exotic beauty. It bears the Showcase Edition decal on the back of the headstock and it’s one of only 200 Showcase Edition ’62 reissue blue SGs made back in 1988. We have to say this is one of the most beautiful shades of blue we’ve seen. Check out the pics.

This SG is all original. A pair of active EMG pickups give it a distinctive and powerful tone. It has a slim neck profile with 1.69 inch nut width. Black hardware and black guard give this guitar a super cool vibe. This guitar has not been sitting in a closet for thirty years; it has been played and loved. It has the expected play wear for a well used guitar, but there are only a few through-the-finish dings and scratches. There is also a small stress crack at the input jack but the crack appears to be perfectly stable and not in need of repair. There is no case on this one, but it comes with a gig bag for portability and protection.

There are a million cherry SGs out there. Only 200 of these. When you’re on stage with this guitar you’ll be making a statement before you’ve even laid down your first killer riff.
