1943 Gibson Banner J-45 Sunburst

Here's a Banner headstock Gibson J-45. This was purchased from the family of the original owner and includes a picture of the original owner playing it! At some point along the way, he had the guitar refinish. The story is he had his name etched on the top, and eventually wanted it to look back to how it did from the factory. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides, with a maple neck. The FON number is faded, but the guitar has a truss rod, and a black stripe on the back of the neck, likely making it a 1943. The neck has a great felling full profile, and plays like butter! Easy playing action. It measures 1" at 1st, and 1.1" at the 9th. The bridge was also changed in the process. There's professionally repaired crack on the top (just to the right of the center seam below the bridge), while the rest is crack free. Tonally it's a cannon! Super powerful, with nice balance and clarity. It really sounds amazing. Most of the new Custom Shop Banners are going for more. Here's a cool opportunity to get into a vintage one! HSC included..
