1963 Gibson Barney Kessel Custom Sunburst

A very clean example of this rare Gibson hollowbody, these guitars were only offered from 1961-74. Their endorsement by legendary Jazz and Studio guitarist Barney Kessell was short lived, but with features like a Super 400 style neck and headstock, patent number humbucking pickups, and distinctive double cutaway body design, these guitars are certainly among the top-of-the-line electric archtops available. This guitar features a beautifully figured maple back with a spruce top for a highly resonant tone both acoustically and plugged in. The slim profile neck and low action make this guitar perfect for lightning fast runs or the complex chord melodies Kessell was famous for. This beautiful guitar comes with a Brown Lifton case.
