2016 Gibson CC#39 ANDREW RAYMOND 1959 LES PAUL AGED LTD MINNESOTA BURST

The 2016 Gibson Custom Shop Collector's Choice #39, also known as the "Minnesota Burst," is a faithful recreation of a 1959 Les Paul Standard owned by collector Andrew Raymond, with the serial number 9-1105. It is one of the few guitars in the CC series to be made with True Historic specifications, and has been meticulously replicated using the latest technology and aging techniques to perfectly capture the unique appearance and sound of the original "Minnesota Burst."

Both the CC and True Historic series are now discontinued, but if you appreciate the concept of CC recreating famous collector-owned guitars, and you prefer the more detailed approach of the True Historic series that aims to replicate every detail of the original Les Paul, then this guitar is a must-have. The True Historic series is defined by Gibson as the art of aging a Les Paul to near-perfection. The original "Minnesota Burst" had a slightly unbalanced pickup output, which resulted in a distinctive mid-range, clear highs, and classic "woman tone" low end. To replicate this unique sound, Gibson hand-wound a set of CustomBucker pickups to perfectly replicate the original PAF pickups.

The "Minnesota Burst" is an incredibly clean 1959 Les Paul Standard with very minimal signs of use, and has retained its original Cherry Burst finish, making it a rare example of an original '59 Les Paul with a pure, unfaded Burst. The collaboration between the True Historic and CC #39 series is truly a must-have for collectors, and finding one in such excellent condition on the market is increasingly difficult.
