Description

We've had a number of fine Gibson Custom Shop SG's in stock recently and here is yet another superb example. Offered is this '61 SG Reissue, serial number 080242, completed in 2018. A late 60's Gibson SG was my first humbucker guitar and one of the primary gigging instruments of my youth, so this is a model I am quite fond of and I am always searching for prime examples for our inventory!

This beautiful SG is made from a very light weight slab of mahogany. It weighs in at just 6.4 pounds and is nicely balanced. The relatively wide-feeling SG neck measures .835" at the first fret increasing to .925" at the 12th which is about average this model. It nearly plays itself and the Custombucker pickups sound fat and woody like an SG should. Please check out the brief sound sample provided below and I think you will agree.

This 2018 guitar remains in terrific condition with the only flaws of any significance being a few impressions on the body edge near the strap pin (see photo) and some oxidation on the hardware attributable to Gibson's VOS aging treatment. The frets are in superb condition and show no observable wear. It comes in it's original Custom Shop case, also in great condition, along with the certificate of authenticity, truss rod tool and other paperwork.

Dealers are getting over $4.6K (or even more) for new examples of this model, but this lightly played 2018 example can be yours for a cool grand less. Click the 'Buy Now' button and make it yours. You will be very glad you did!
