Looking for a great SG? If so, offered here is a superb Gibson Custom Shop VOS SG built in 2009 and in superb condition.
A 1969 Gibson SG was the first humbucker guitar and one of the primary gigging instruments of my youth. To this day, the SG remains a guitar that evokes many positive memories for me and remains a model that I am particularly fond of.
The relatively wide feeling SG neck has a 60's C-shape, with depth measurements of .815" at the first fret, increasing to .925" at the twelfth fret and it feels great! The guitar is all original and has is equipped with Gibson's Burstbucker PAF-style pickups. This all-mahogany solid body weighs just 6.8 pounds and is nicely balanced when strapped on.
The tone of this instrument is fat and woody, much like a Les Paul but without the added weight. Please check out the brief sound sample of this guitar included below. It plays great too with a nice low, buzz-free setup with a new set of Elixir Nano .10's.
As a VOS format guitar, this instrument received very light aging at the factory consisting of a light patina added to the finish and hardware. Other than the VOS aging and some extremely light play wear (see the included photo of the minor flaws on this guitar), this SG remains in great original condition with no repairs. The frets remain in great condition and show little to no wear (see photos). It comes in the original Gibson Custom Shop case, along with the certificate of authenticity, hang tags and truss rod tool.
A new SG has a street price of near $5K depending on where you buy, but this well-kept 2009 beauty can be had at a significant discount. Get yourself a great Custom Shop SG with this guitar. Make it yours today. You will be very glad you did!
