Gibson Custom Shop '58 Les Paul True Historic 2015 - Lemonburst
Here we have a cool '58 Les Paul True Historic from 2015! This Custom Shop model features a lightly figured maple top and lemonburst finish.
Other specs include a mahogany body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard. It's loaded with a set of Custombucker pickups, the bridge is a no-wire ABR-1 and it has a lightweight stop tailpiece. The True Historic marked a new era in specification and historical correctness which carries through to today, including full hide glue construction and updated plastics.
This guitar is in very good condition, though it's been played and has some light wear to note. There are a few light dings around the body edge with a small paint chip on the back edge by the strap button and a couple small paint chips at the edge of the headstock. There is a small dent near the input jack and a couple of small dings on the top. The back of the neck has a few light marks and faint impressions that are not very noticeable while playing. There are light scratches and other topical marks across the instrument as well, mostly on the back. There is light oxidation on the metal parts too. As with many guitars of this era, the red dye has bled into the neck binding heavily, as well as subtly around the top binding.
This one weighs in at 8lbs 7oz. The neck measures .920 to 1.040 at the 1st and 12th. It has a decent depth to it, but with a medium shoulder that keeps it comfortable. The guitar is warm and throaty off the body with a nice clarity. It's well balanced and plays easily in every way. We love the dark board and light chevron top too. Overall an excellent sounding example, ideal for someone who doesn't mind some light player wear.
