2017 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom Wine Red

Excellent condition featuring single cutaway mahogany body, two piece figured maple top, multiple bound top and back edges (thin binding through the cutaway), two humbucking pickups (496R and 498T) with black plastic pickup surrounds, two volume controls and two tone controls with black speed knobs, three-way pickup selector switch with cream tip and single ply black plastic Rhythm and Treble selector ring, stop tailpiece, Nashville tune-o-matic bridge with six individual intonatable saddles and two height adjustment thumb wheels, set mahogany neck, bound ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays starting at the first fret, bone nut, enlarged Gibson open book peghead, multiple bound peghead, black peghead face with Gibson logo and split diamond pearl inlays, multi-ply black and white bell shaped truss rod cover with Les Paul Custom engraving, three per side Grover Rotomatic tuning machines with metal tulip buttons, serial number ink stamp and Gibson Custom logo on the back of the peghead, single ply black plastic electronics cavity control cover plate, metal switch cavity cover plate with Gibson Custom Est. 1894 and Made in USA engravings, two metal strap buttons, gold plated metal hardware, Wine Red finish, COA, and original Gibson brown Tolex covered Lifton style hard shell case with plush pink interior. This guitar weighs 9lb 7oz.

This 2017 Gibson Les Paul Custom is in excellent cosmetic condition overall showing hardly any signs of play wear throughout. There is a small ding on the back of the body (see photos). The strap buttons are replacement locking type buttons. The neck profile on this instrument is only slightly smaller than an R9 shape with a 1 11/16" nut width. It feels extremely comfortable in hand with just enough rounded chunkiness. The fret wire shows virtually no signs of use and has tons of life left. This guitar plays effortlessly up and down the fingerboard with exceptional intonation. The 496R and 498T humbucking pickups in this guitar sound incredible. This pickup set has been used in numerous Gibson models since the 1990s and has always been a great set of pickups which are, in my opinion, a bit more aggressive than today's modern PAF clones. Both pickups sound great together and are very balanced. The top is beautifully figured and pairs extremely well with the Wine Red finish on this Les Paul. Just a super classy Les Paul. This guitar is housed in its original Lifton style case and includes its COA. This is an outstanding Les Paul Custom that will provide its new owner with years of faithful service and look fantastic while doing so.
