Gibson Custom Shop 2021 Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul Heavy Aged

This "1959 Les Paul Custom Heavy Aged" has been aged by Murphy Lab, a team specializing in aging led by Tom Murphy, a leading expert in the field of aging.

The beautifully grained flame maple, which changes its expression depending on the angle you look at it, is finished in Golden Poppy Burst, a lemon color that is the finish of Collector's Choice #2 Goldie, and the fingerboard is made of dark rosewood. The fretboard is made of black rosewood.

The "Heavy Aged" finish is the second of the four aging options available in the Murphy Lab Collection, and it has a sturdy appearance with stripped paint on the neck and body, and weather-checking on the front. All parts are glued with all-nickel washers.

The all-nickel glue and parts have been carried over from the True Historic era, including vintage taper pots and bumblebee type oil condensers.

The neck is an Authentic 59 Medium "C" shape, a shape used since 2018 and very slightly thinner than earlier '59 models.

The pickups are equipped with two un-potted Custombucker.

It is in good condition with little signs of use, no fret wear, and no problems with the neck and truss rod.
