Gibson Custom Shop 2023 Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul Heavy Aged

This "1959 Les Paul Heavy Aged" has been aged by Murphy Lab, a team of aging specialists led by aging guru Tom Murphy.

The "Heavy Aged" finish is the second of the four levels of aging available in the Murphy Lab Collection, and it reproduces the peeling paint on the neck and body, as well as the weather checks on the front of the guitar, giving it a dignified appearance.

The top is made of flame maple with a beautiful grain that changes its expression depending on the angle you look at it, finished in lemon Golden Poppy Burst, the finish of the Collector's Choice #2 Goldie, and the fingerboard is made of dark shade rosewood.

All hide gluing and parts are carried over from the True Historic series, with vintage taper pots and bumblebee type oil capacitors.

The neck is an Authentic 59 Medium "C" shape, a shape used since 2018 and very slightly thinner than earlier '59 models.

The pickups are un-potted Custombuckers.

There are some minor paint chips that do not appear to be due to the aging process.

The guitar is in excellent condition with almost no signs of wear, and the neck and truss rod are both in good condition.
