2002 Gibson Custom Shop Non Reverse Firebird Cardinal Red

Excellent condition featuring offset contoured mahogany body, large multi-ply black and white plastic beveled edge pickguard with red Firebird logo, two Gibson Burstbucker (1 & 2) humbucking pickups with “half covers”, two volume controls and two tone controls with black plastic reflector top knobs, three way pickup selector switch with white plastic switch tip, stop tailpiece and fully adjustable ABR-1 bridge, set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, Firebird Non Reverse peghead shape, large single ply black plastic truss rod cover with Gibson logo, six in a line Grover Mini Rotomatic tuning machines, ink stamped serial number and Gibson Custom Shop logo on the the back of the peghead, two metal strap buttons, chrome plated metal hardware, Cardinal Red finish and original rectangular Gibson Historic hardshell case with black Tolex covering and purple plush interior. The original Certificate of Authenticity from the Gibson Custom Shop is also included. This Firebird weighs 8lb 2oz.

This 2002 Gibson Custom Shop Non Reverse Firebird is in excellent condition. This instrument shows only very faint signs of play wear and is just over all extremely clean. This Firebird features a very comfortable medium chunky 59 style neck profile with a 1 11/16” nut width. This neck feels fantastic in hand and is really just a pleasure to play! The original fret wire is in terrific condition and is free of any dents or divots. This guitar has been professionally set up and it plays like a dream up and down the rosewood fingerboard with low action, superb string tension and spot on intonation. The electronics are original in this instrument and they are in perfect working order. The Burstbucker 1 & 2 pickups sound absolutely phenomenal in this bird. These pickups are very articulate and open with plenty of power and sustain. This guitar sounds exquisite and is quite suitable for any type of Rock N Roll or Rhythm and Blues. This version of the Firebird is one of best that I’ve played in some time. This Custom Shop Firebird features many classic Firebird appointments while also improving on some specs - the stop tailpiece and ABR-bridge for better intonation, top notch Grover tuning machines for better tuning stability and the addition of full size humbucking pickups for an array of different tones. This model was truly made to be played.
