Description

The EB-2D has a warm, romantic sound!

Gibson's first electric bass, the violin-shaped EB-1, was released in 1953. 30.5" scale, semi-acoustic construction similar to the ES-335, and a single humbucker PU. It had a 30.5" scale, semi-acoustic body with a single humbucker PU, similar to the ES-335.
In 1966, the EB-2D, a 2PU version with a small PU added on the bridge side, joined the lineup.
The EB-2 and EB-2D were discontinued in 1972.

The EB-2D has a semi-hollowbody construction with a one-piece mahogany neck and a hollowed-out maple body on the top and sides, and has the fat low frequency range of the conventional EB-2 with the addition of a rear pickup for a brighter sound.

The front PU produces the low frequency range characteristic of GIbson basses. The front PU alone has a strong bass sound, but when mixed with the rear PU, the mid to high frequencies are added to create a warm sound with a pleasant bass push.
By turning on the low filter switch in the front position, you can enjoy a different sound from the mix and rear PUs, and you can imagine various ways to use this control!

The boxy sound that solid basses can never produce and the sound pressure that only Gibson can deliver. The sturdy and sturdy unit with a lot of weather-checks makes you want to look at it all the time, and satisfies your sense of ownership.
