1949 Gibson ES-125 w/hsc

Very nice '49 Gibson ES-125 (FON 2001 17), this guitar was brought in to the shop by the daughter of the original owner. While the neck finish shows plenty of wear indicating the guitar was loved and played, the body is quite clean. Top and back finish show few dings, the sides show more scrapes similar to the neck. The body and neck are free of cracks or damage of any kind. The neck is straight and the original neck set is perfect. Original frets are in great shape and there are no fret board divots or wear. The original bridge, tailpiece and tuners are present as is the P-90 pickup, which has just been serviced along with the original wire harness and pots to bring the guitar up to its best working condition. There is a very minor bit of static in the tone pot but nothing serious. A "stand by" switch has been added to the guitar so that cuts the pickup signal allowing for silent tuning (if desired) in performance situations. Push it once and the pickup goes silent, push again and you're live again. The volume and tone knobs are reproductions added when the wiring/pots and pickup were serviced as the originals were replaced already, and the original Kluson tuner buttons were crumbling so they have been replaced as well with perfect repros. The tuners have two very slightly bent posts (D & G...isn't it always?) but not enough to impact function. The original pickguard is gone. The truss rod functions perfectly. The action is set low and comfortable, plays great and the old P-90 has the great warm tone that they are known for. The guitar comes with a new Guardian hard shell case. Shipping to US destinations only, no international shipping offered. $2399
