Description

1949 Gibson ES-125 in sunburst finish in very good condition. This Gibson has been refretted, has replaced tuner buttons, and the back of the neck has been refinished in house from the headstock to the heel of the guitar. The factory order number dates this guitar to 1949 but it has features more typical of a 1947. This ES-125 has a single early style P-90 pickup featuring 6 non-adjustable Alnico slug magnet pole pieces that delivers a powerful, huge, clear sound. The guitar was constructed with an arched maple top, a flat mahogany back, mahogany sides, a mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and a Brazilian rosewood bridge. The neck measures 1 11/16" at the nut and has a depth of 0.92” at the first fret and 1.00” at the tenth fret. The lower bout measures 16” wide. The guitar has a 24.75” scale and weighs 4.36 lbs. It comes with a hardshell case.
