For those of you who don't know what a 'Burst Killer' is, I offer you this original 1958 Gibson ES-335 unbound dot-marker in sunburst finish. I've owned A LOT of original bursts over the years, and this this sounds as good or better than most! The overall condition is nice, about an 8.0/10 showing the normal playing wear, dings, and finish checking. It's had Grovers at one time but the original tuners have been properly re-installed. The early unbound neck has a chunky profile and it appears to have been re-fretted with larger wire. The neck angle is shallow, like all ES-335's from this era, and the ground-down ABR-1 pretty much sits right on the body (which is probably why this sounds so good), but the action is comfortable and it plays great! The PAF's read 8.0k ohms at the bridge, and 8.1k ohms at the neck; the covers have been off & on, and the pole-screws have been factory shortened to compensate for the shallow neck angle (as opposed to drilling six holes into the body which I've also seen). The guitar is a lightweight 7.7 pounds and comes in its original brown hard case. The guitar is featured in Tony Bacon's 'The Ultimate Guitar' book and is reputed to have owned by Peter Green in the past, though I'm having trouble confirming this.
