1959 Gibson ES-335 Sunburst

This stunning 1959 ES-335 just arrived. I sold this guitar 6 years ago and just bought it back. The subtle flames look great on this guitar (big bold flames look wrong on a 335). It is all original. Neck profile is the big early 59 and measures .88" at the first fret and .98" at the 12th. Sealed double black PAFs. Original tuner tips-unusual for a 59-they almost always crumble to dust. 59's have become very difficult to source-there simply aren't that many of them and every big collector in the world wants one in his collection. Although barely visible, the guitar had other tuners at some point but i'm not sure what tuners. Grovers and Schallers generally leave a big ring on the front and a footprint on the back of the headstock. This shows neither. Only some flaking finish by the bushings and small filled holes halfway under the Kluson fooptprint. Monster player, hot pickups (8K plus) and wonderful sustain. The frets appear to be original. There is no sign of a re-fret although the nibs are nearly completely worn away. There is very light, fine checking but virtually no wear. Case is the original Lifton.
