1961 is the first year that red 335's were made in large numbers. Essentially, if you want a red dot neck, it's likely going to be a 61-there is one 58, six 59's and 21 60's. There's a lot of good things to say about a 61 dot neck. PAFs, wide nut, great tone and a relatively low price compared with other dot necks. This 61 is all original but has a small area of overspray on the back of the neck (see blacklight photo). Factory stop tail. Never had a Bigsby. The bridge pickup is a sealed PAF, the neck appears to have been changed (there is an extended lead wire). It appears to be either a PAF or an early patent. I opened it and it has the purple PAF windings and black lead wires. Not rewound. Priced in. These usually run over $20K. The darker red photos are natural light. Original black case.
