1962 Gibson ES-335 Red

Original stop tail 1962 ES-335. One PAF and one patent number pickup. This isn't quite up to collector grade status, the condition being around 8 out of 10 but it's not a player grade either. It's all original but has a few smaller issues to note. The neck angle is quite shallow so the ABR-1 (no wire) has been shaved at the edges to compensate for the neck angle. You could get away with a full heigh ABR-1 but the thumbwheels will be all the way down on the top. It had Grovers when I got it but I swapped in a vintage correct set of Klusons. The Grovers left no extra holes. Never had a Bigsby or other tailpiece. The PAF has a splice in the lead wire but it has not been re-wound or repaired beyond extending the lead. It's an excellent player with slightly oversize frets. Neck profile is medium (.83" at the first fret and .91" at the 12th. And besides, I've priced this stop tail below the 62 Bigsby I just sold. Who sells a stop tail for less than a Bigsby? I do.
