Why is this factory stop tail 63 so cheap? It has some changed parts so pay attention. The body and neck are original finish, never broken, never had Grovers or a Bigsby. It shows moderate to heavy player wear but is in good playing condition. The frets could use a dressing but it plays well as is. What is original: Body and neck, pickguard and bracket, strap buttons, tuner and stoptail bushings, bridge posts, knobs, case. What is repro: Tailpiece and studs (Montreux), bridge (Faber), Tuners (Kluson), pickup covers. What is vintage but not original: Pickups (60's T-tops with stickers), harness ('65). Note that the bridge in the photos is not the one that is included. The included Faber bridge has metal saddles. This red 1963 ES-335 is probably mid year. Has Mickey Mouse ear cutaways (not all 63's do) and also the larger later 63 neck. Not as large as a 64 but medium rather than slim. The first fret is .815" with moderate shoulder. The twelfth is .95". There is some honest player wear but it's a monster player and priced to move. Unusual headstock stinger (you rarely see this as late as 63). There is something about a red block neck that screams rock and roll (thanks to innumerable players who wielded one of these). Original Lifton case in fair condition with one broken latch. I will consider selling just the husk (neck and body) if you are interested.
