One of 898 made in 1971!
This 1971 Gibson ES-335 is just about perfect. It is clean, clean, clean and 100% original.
Having a guitar in this condition around the shop is pretty cool. I hung it next to the 1965 ES-335 and 1960 ES-330 that we have in stock. All are similarly clean. People think they're all new or reissue guitars at first glance.
The unmolested Gibson embossed, patent-sticker pickups were used for just a short period- part of 1971 and 1972. They sound fantastic. The neck volute is smaller in size, an earlier feature.
The guitar was played some, but was extremely well cared for. Look at some of the areas that usually get dinged first, like the top edge of the headstock.
This is also a light ES-335, weighing in at just 7 pounds, 9.6 ounces. It is a treat to play and is a killer example to add to or start a collection with.
We checked the truss rod to make sure it has room for future adjustments.
Original hard case included.
