If you want a red ES-345, 1960 is the year. They only made ten in 59, so don't expect to find a 59 easily. What's great about the early red ES guitars is the color. By the end of 1960, the "watermelon" red was gone. This guitar is a watermelon but it has seen so little sunlight that it hasn't faded much. This guitar has been converted to mono/335 spec. The original Varitone switch and choke are in the case. The pick guard is a good repro with a correct bracket. All the rest of the plastic and hardware is original except the tuner tips. The guitar had Grover tuners at some point but there are no additional holes and only a couple of very minimal "owl eyes" on the front of the headstock from the washers. One PAF is missing its sticker and the other has a partial. I did the conversion to mono years ago on this guitar and I know that these are the original pickups. The frets were done recently and the guitar plays brilliantly. Neck is wide and slim but not the "blade" neck of 61. Case is the original brown Gibson badged 5 latch version with one broken latch. I will include a vintage replacement latch.
