1974 Gibson ES-355 Wine Red

Very clean 1974 ES-355

When we received the guitar the pickguard had gassed off badly, causing the hardware in the immediate area to tarnish completely, such as the pickguard bracket, pickup covers, selector switch nut. We cleaned and replaced the hardware with NOS Gibson items, as well as spraying some lacquer and buffing the pickguard out. Please be aware that the pickguard will continue to deteriorate as once the off-gassing process has begun, it cannot be reversed. However, the lacquer applied will slow it down as much as possible.

The guitar shows some usual playwear for a 50 year old instrument, such as light worming, pick scratches, etc. That being said the guitar is a very clean example. Most 355's of this era have the clear coat yellowed completely, missing parts, chipped plastic, etc. If you have any questions regarding the guitars condition, please contact us.
