1964 Gibson ES-355 Mono Red, Excellent, Original Hard, $13,500.00

Other than in 1958 when the model was introduced for Christmas and they only shipped ten of them, 1964 is the year with the lowest shipping total for mono ES-355's. And they are super rare. I've only seen two or three-ever. They shipped only 54 of them (as opposed to around 200 stereo versions). So, if you're looking for one, best not to snooze. And why would you...this one is just stunning. The condition is 9+ and it's 99% original. The only non original part is the pickguard. There is a very high end repro long guard on it with the original bracket. I have a correct short guard but it doesn't quite line up with the screw hole and I don't want to drill an extra hole. This looks better anyway and you can get an original down the road. Sealed patent number pickups. Original wire bridge with nylon saddles. Original frets show better than 90% left on them. Did anybody play this guitar? There is no wear, no rash, no dings.
I could easily get away with calling it near mint but the missing guard kind of kills that.
