Originally only running from 1963-1965, Gibson built a brief run of the "Reverse" body Firebirds in 1972 to commemorate the olympics, but it wasn't util 1976 the model returned to the lineup for good. As the popularity of vintage Firebirds increase, These "Bicentennial" models are becoming much harder to find. This first year example is about as clean as it gets, and features a rare, "Black" finish, as well as an extremely clean original hardshell case. With the original "red, white, and blue" Firebird pick guard emblem still fully intact, and very little tarnish on the gold hardware, this is a fantastic, fully original guitar that offers the unmistakable tone that only these guitars can. Light weight and resonant, the combination of a neck-thru body and pair of mini-humbucking pickups make this a phenomenal sounding guitar.
