The 50's and 60's might have been the height of design in America, so its no surprise that the guitars of the era are as inspiring today as when they were first released. Gibson's Firebird is high up on the list with it's signature curves and unique neck-through-body construction. The Firebird is an electric guitar fully re-imagined, from the reverse body and headstock, to the "banjo" tuners and even the pickups were unique to this guitar.
The guitar has a '78 serial number but Gibson still was using up their red-white-and-blue pickguards from the Bi-Centennial models of a few years before. Overall it is in good condition with no breaks, cracks or repairs. There are light marks in the paint and hardware throughout as you would expect on a well loved guitar from back when people owned only one guitar! There is an extra hole on the perimeter from when the strap button had been moved.
The neck has a medium size to it, not fat but not skinny either. It is 1-11/16" wide at the nut. Frets are nice and tall, if was re-fretted it was a pro-job.
Hard case included.
