This 1964 Firebird V is totally intact (a feat in itself) and has been played hard and for a very long time. There is wear everywhere but, hey, folks pay extra for all of those dings and dents and missing finish. The old adage that the good ones get played isn't always true but in this case, it is. The tone of this guitar is big and broad. Lots of range which isn't always true of 'birds. It is original except for the truss rod cover. the Gibson name is missing and it isn't likely to get worn off as the truss cover doesn't see much action. So, it's likely a repro. The case is an overly long Epiphone-probably meant for a Thunderbird bass. I'm trying to source a more properly sized case. Everything else is original. Pot codes are 17th week of 64. The guard is in excellent shape-the bird is clear and complete. Only the corner by the bridge is missing. This guitar needs frets. It plays but it will play a whole lot better with new frets. The originals are worn flat. I've sold two 64 FB V's in the past month. This one is priced $2000 less than the others.
