Here's another great-playing player's grade Flying V. This one is from 1980 and sports the same Shaw era Gibson humbuckers as the 1982 we currently have in stock.
Many Vs suffered the headstock break fate. This one took a clean break and was professionally repaired. The previous owner has had this guitar for years - I believe he brought it into my shop back in the early 2000s, and the repair has been steady all this time.
This V has had some work done on the pickguard. It is cut out where the pickup mounting screws would normally be. In order to mount the pickups to the changed guard, pickup rings were added. This resulted in two extra small screw holes being added to the body, under the pickguard an near the corner of the neck pickup route.
The guitar plays very well, and like the 1982 V, it is light and resonant with great tone when plugged in. This is a V you'll love to play, and you can rest easy as you do so since it shows the wear and changes of a player's guitar.
