Gibson / 1967 J-45 Cherry Sunburst

Cherry Sunburst color with reddish tint and Gotoh pegs,
This is one of the "1967 J-45s".

In the same year, the Tobacco Sunburst color J-45, famous for Takuro Yoshida's use, was also resurrected, and this look, which was changed from the Cherry Sunburst color that tended to fade easily until 1966, is also representative of this year.

The pegs are also unique to this period.
The open back with shiny plating is impressive, and there is a JAPAN stamp on the back. These are made by Gotoh, a leading parts manufacturer in Japan.
It is very moving to think that parts made in Japan were used in Gibson's J-45, a guitar brand representing America and Gibson's flagship model from the late 1960s.

The sound has the crispness of a narrow neck with an adjustable bridge, and a very pleasant, thick, comped mid-bass tone. This is a great instrument to play with strokes.
