1958 Gibson J-45 ADJ Sunburst

Excellent condition featuring slope shoulder dreadnought shaped body, solid Sitka spruce top with sunburst finish and decorative soundhole rosette, mahogany back and sides, multi-bound top edges, single bound back edges, elongated tortoiseshell grain pickguard, Brazilian rosewood belly bridge with original ceramic adjustable saddle, mahogany neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearloid inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, Gibson open book peghead shape, black peghead face with gold silkscreened Gibson logo, single ply bell shaped truss rod cover, three on a plate Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with white oval plastic buttons, plastic end pin and Japanese made hard shell case.

This 1958 Gibson J-45 is in excellent cosmetic condition showing signs of play wear throughout including some finish checking, dings and pick scratches (see photos). The body is crack free and lightweight. The neck profile on this guitar is that of a late 50s carve and feels terrific in hand. The frets show some signs of play wear (see photos), but this guitar plays great up and down the fingerboard with a comfortable medium/low action. This instrument is all original and has not been tampered with in any way other than a set up and two replacement bridge pins. This J-45 delivers the classic dry thumpy and articulate sounds that these instruments are famous for. It literally sounds like all of those acoustic records that we love. This guitar would make a perfect songwriting companion or studio workhorse.
