This listing for a 1965 Gibson J 45 acoustic guitar. It is in excellent condition. There are no modifications. This one sounds fantastic. The six digit serial number starts with a 2, and considering it’s other features like the pick guard, double lined kluson tuners, and 1 and 1/16” large nut size we date this guitar made in 1965. The head stock is clean (no breaks) and the logo is clear. The sunburst top color is stunning. The binding is in tact, aged beautifully too and the sides and back are in very good condition. The adjustable bridge works just fine, and is currently set up with low to moderate action 12th fret low E string is normal - 2 cm, and the high e string is about 1.75 cm. There is a little black triangle on the bottom of the guitar which I believe is original from the factory. It doesn’t look like there have been any repairs on this guitar. Frets have life left on them but it is a 60 year old guitar and like me, they do have a lifespan.
The guitar is strung with light gauge 11’s strings. The back does have a small separation/crack but luckily its superficial and does not affect the play. Someone could do something about it, but it wont be me.
Comes with a hard shell case in excellent condition. It is not a Gibson case, but it works and fits the guitar nicely. Black plush inside, all latches work, no odors and looks nice. What more do you need? This great sounding guitar.
