Description

1944 Gibson J-45 Maple in good condition. This Gibson has had a neck reset, refret, a replacement bridge installed, a professionally repaired top crack that extends from the bottom of the soundhole to the bottom edge of the lower bout, and five professionally repaired side cracks. All work was done in house. The guitar has two small screw holes around the soundhole from a previously installed pickup and four tiny screw holes on the bottom from a previously installed tailpiece. This J-45 was constructed with a spruce top, solid maple sides, maple ply back, a 5 piece maple neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and a rosewood bridge. The neck has a width of 1 3/4” at the nut, a depth of 0.95” deep at the first fret, and a depth of 1.01” at the tenth fret. The guitar has a 24 3/4” scale and weighs 4.62 lbs. This rare maple version of the banner era J-45 is particularly well balanced and boasts articulate note separation, sparkling high end, and a tight, punchy bass response. The guitar is a true cannon and would work equally well as a big rhythm machine or for lead lines that are sure to cut through in a jam. Comes with a modern hardshell case.
