Here we have a beautiful example of Gibson's L-1 archtop acoustic.
The guitar retains all the original parts with the exception of the bridge. The trapeze tailpiece and pickguard are in excellent condition - parts that can deteriorate on these guitars.
There is just one crack, near the endpin on the side. The back is separated from the sides in a couple places, a repair that can easily be made in qualified hands.
I can't determine if the frets are original or not, but they're in remarkably good shape, and the guitar plays well. The bridge does need replacement as it has warped with the string tension.
Once the bridge and back separations are handled, this will be one of the finest examples of this model out there.
