1978 Gibson L-5S Sunburst

Jorma!. We all love Jorma! And who wouldn’t love a real live Gibson L-5S, especially one that's been owned and played by Jorma Kaukonen his own self? Most L-5S Gibsons have a disconcertingly flash red finish. Not this one; it’s the rare Gibson Dark Burst, hints of which are traceable back to the 1940s and it is way cool, as is the entire guitar. Coupla hot genuine Gibson Humbuckers; modern Tune-o-Matic bridge; fine-tuner tailpiece and Kluson Sealfast tuning machines with die cast housings, their very best. And everything all beautifully gold-plated, of course. Ebony fingerboard (only the best) with traditional Gibson mother-of-pearl block inlays, all the way. Very solid three-piece maple body In beautiful overall condition with almost no fret wear, and all gone over and just set up by us right here in our own shop. Extremely comfy neck with nut width a shade over 1-11/16” and a nice oval shape to it. Came to me directly from my old pal of over forty years, Jorma Kaukonen, he of Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane for those of you too young to know and/or unable to recall clearly.
