1959 Gibson Les Paul - Sunburst

This Les Paul Standard (9 0404) was made at the Gibson Factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1959.
It features an incredibly unique and highly figured maple top; making this particular example extremely desirable. It also retains most of its original color, again a very desirable trait.

This Burst has been extremely well kept the past 63 years, it has been featured in Burst Believers 2, 3 & 6 and can be found on the burst serial. It maintains a rock solid provenance/chain of custody to its original owner and lastly and perhaps most importantly remains in “under the bed” cosmetic condition to this day.

The neck shape is the quintessential 1959 shape that has become the gold standard for electric guitars; measuring .86 @ the 1st fret and.97 @ the 12th.
The Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in excellent condition with very minor wear in the first position. The frets remain factory perfect with 70% life remaining with the fret nibs still visibly present.

The headstock is near perfect, with no checking. It displays an extraordinarily clean logo & silkscreen.

The Single Line Kluson tuners are original and in perfect working order, they have been re-tipped as is common.
The cavity is immaculate and remains in completely untouched factory condition.

All of the hardware (tuners, abr-1 bridge, bridge posts, wheels, tail piece, studs, strap buttons, screws & washers) are in excellent + condition and are undoubtably original to the instrument.

All of the plastics (truss rod cover, switch plate, switch tip, knobs, pickup rings, pick guard) are in excellent + condition and are undoubtably original to the instrument.

The legendary 1959 PAF pickups remain factory sealed and have never been touched up or out of the guitar and display perfect stickers. They measure 8.1 N & 7.8 B respectively, perfect!

This Monster Burst did have a Bigsby tailpiece added to it at one time. Those screw holes were expertly filled with saw dust and "drop filled" with literally a drop of lacquer. They are for all intents and purposes invisible to the naked eye and can only be seen under black light.

This Holy Grail Burst is accompanied by its original case, strap and all the case candy one could ever hope for! A true Crown Jewel to any collection.
